Project delivery

Lumsden Point will be delivered in multiple work packages. Packages underway are listed below. This list will be updated as the project progresses.

Package 1 – Seawalls	Construct seawalls around the wharf area. Completed April 2024.	MGN Civil
Package 2 – Dredging and Reclamation	Dredge the Lumsden access channel, swing basin and berth pockets. Dredging underway.	Jan De Nul
Package 3 – Causeway	Widen the existing temporary causeway, creating a road and services corridor linking the wharf area with the logistics hub. Construction underway.	MGN Civil
Package 4 – Roads and Intersections	Construct a grade-separated interchange between Lumsden Point, the Great Northern Highway and Wedgefield (Pinga St). Package 4 is managed by Main Roads WA. Further details are available via their website. Construction underway.	MACA Civil
Package 5a - Wharfs	Design and construct two wharfs, known as Port Hedland (PH) 5 and 6.
Package 5b – Materials Handling Facility	Design and construct a common-user materials handling facility, including outload conveyor, wharf conveyor and shiploader.
Package 5c – Landside Civils and Services	Carry out earthworks, construct roads and install underground services.
Package 6 – Harbour Cranes	Procure two harbour cranes.
