One of the ways Pilbara Ports supports the Pilbara regional and WA state economy is by encouraging and supporting local industry and regional business participation in our procurement and contracting. 

Our procurement framework and contracting processes require assessment of:

• Regional and state benefits from local and regional purchasing considerations;
• WA industry participation
• Aboriginal business participation and/or Aboriginal employment outcomes
• Support for training and development of construction and building trades via:
  • the Building Construction Industry Training Fund; and
  • Priority Start Policy.
