Pilbara Ports Climate Action Plan provides a strategic framework for addressing the impacts of climate change by seizing business opportunities, building resilience against climate impacts and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. This plan is more than a roadmap, it’s a statement of intent guiding how we reduce emissions, adapt to climate risks and support a more sustainable supply chain.

How Pilbara Ports Climate Action Plan drives change

The plan sets out targeted actions to reduce climate risks, adapt to both physical and transitional climate impacts, and drive innovation for a sustainable future. Cenetered around three key pillars, the approach aligns with Pilbara Ports strategic priorities, enhances the resilience of our operations, and meets stakeholder expectations. 

• Climate change opportunity - Identify and align with business opportunities from proactive climate action, such as innovation, partnerships and new markets in the renewable energy and clean fuel sectors.
• Climate change resilience- Strengthen the ability of our port operations to withstand and adapt to climate-related risks, including extreme weather events and supply chain disruptions.
• Emissions reduction - Implement strategies to lower our emissions through energy efficiency, renewable energy adoption, and work with our customers to reduce their
  emissions. This addresses both our own scope 1 and 2 emissions, and our scope 3 customer emissions within our port boundaries.
