Pilbara Ports delivered a total monthly throughput of 61.5 million tonnes (Mt) for November 2023.
This throughput was a four per cent decrease compared to November 2022.
The Port of Port Hedland achieved a monthly throughput of 45.8Mt, of which 44.9Mt was iron ore exports. This was a five per cent decrease to total throughput compared to November 2022.
Imports through the Port of Port Hedland totalled 185,000 tonnes, an increase of two per cent compared to November 2022.
The Port of Dampier delivered a total throughput of 14.8Mt, a one per cent decrease from November 2022.
Imports through the Port of Dampier totalled 136,000 tonnes, an increase of 20 per cent from November 2022.
Several factors influence the fluctuation of throughput, including changes in market conditions, port maintenance operations and proponent needs.
Total throughput across all ports since 1 July 2023 is 307.9Mt.
