Pilbara Ports Authority has delivered a total monthly throughput of 50.7 million tonnes (Mt) for
the month of February 2017.
This is a slight decrease of 1% from the same month in 2016.
During the month, shipping operations at Dampier and Port Hedland were suspended for 23
hours, and 27 hours and 30 minutes respectively, due to adverse weather conditions.
The Port of Port Hedland achieved a monthly throughput of 36Mt, a decrease of 3% from the
Iron ore exports for the month totalled 35.6Mt, a decrease of 3% from the previous year.
Imports totalled 135,000 tonnes, an increase of 27% from the same month in 2016.
The Port of Dampier delivered a total monthly throughput of 14.7Mt, an increase of 3% from
the previous year.
Imports totalled 68,000 tonnes, a decrease of 13% from the previous year.
