Pilbara Ports Authority has delivered a total monthly throughput of 49.7 million tonnes (Mt) for the month of February 2020.
This throughput was a 9% decrease compared to the same month in 2019.
The total throughput for the 2019/20 financial year to date is 461Mt, an increase of less than 1% from the same time last year.
The Port of Port Hedland achieved a monthly throughput of 39Mt, of which 38.7Mt was iron ore exports. The monthly throughput was a 1% decrease from February 2019.
Imports through the Port of Port Hedland totalled 128,000 tonnes, a decrease of 22% from the same month in 2019.
The Port of Dampier delivered a total monthly throughput of 9.9Mt, a decrease of 32% from February 2019.
Imports through the Port of Dampier totalled 47,000 tonnes, a decrease of 46% from the same month in 2019.
The Port of Dampier was closed for 90 hours in February 2020 due to ex-Tropical Cyclone Damien. The Port of Port Hedland was closed for 25.5 hours.
